Thousands march to salute Israel in NYC

NEW YORK - It's been a sea of blue and white on Fifth Avenue as thousands of people marched in the annual Salute to Israel Parade. Marchers waved the Israeli flag and sang Jewish folk songs as they paraded up the avenue Sunday. This year's parade marked the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Jewish state. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg joined New York Gov. David Paterson, New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine and other elected officials near the head of the parade. (Salute to Israel.com)
