A top Iranian military official says the recent IRGC maneuvers have only demonstrated one iota of the country's military might.
Former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Yahya Rahim-Safavi expressed satisfaction with Iran's latest missile tests, saying the IRGC maneuvers had achieved their desired purpose. Rahim-Safavi praised the country's military achievements and went on to warn that 'the enemy would find itself trapped in a quagmire in Iran should it wage war on the country'. He said a military action against Iran would provoke an unimaginable reaction from the Islamic Republic against invaders.
"Iran's Armed Forces are fully prepared for a quick response to any act of aggression," stated the military advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Maj. Gen. Rahim-Safavi said that the latest IRGC maneuvers in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz posed no threat to regional states, adding that the exercises were solely aimed at demonstrating the country's defensive military capabilities. During last week's military exercise Iran successfully test-fired its state-of-the-art shore-to-sea, surface-to-surface and sea-to-air missiles.
