Moscow may suspend Russia-NATO agreement on cargo delivery to Afghanistan via Russian territory

Moscow may suspend its agreement with NATO whereby the North Atlantic Alliance has been supplying cargoes across Russian territory to keep going its military operation in Afghanistan. The opinion was ventured in an interview with The Times of London by the Russian ambassador in Kabul Zamir Kabulov. The official feels that the agreement in question is no longer in effect since last week Russia suspended its military cooperation with NATO for lack of coincidence on the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict. No one of sound mind and memory should expect Russia to cooperate with them in one part of the world, Kabulov says, while they act against Russia elsewhere. On Monday President Medvedev said Moscow welcomes partnership relations with the Alliance, but it is in no need of an illusory partnership. (26.08.2008)
