SANA: Car bomb explosion kills 17 in Damascus

Damascus, (SANA)- A car bomb explosion killed 17 and wounded 14 others in the Syrian capital this morning, the Syrian government television reported . The Syrian TV added that the car was loaded with 200 kg of explosive materials. The explosion took place near a security establishment on the road to Damascus international airport at a crossing leading to Lady Zeibab Tomb frequently visited by Shiite Moslems coming from Lebanon and Iraq. Eyewitnesses said that the security forces cordoned the area. This is the second explosion took place in Syria following the explosion that led to the assassination of the military commander of Lebanese Hizbullah party, Emad Maghniya last Feb. Last month a senior security official was mysteriously assassinated in Tartous summer resort.
