US to supply Israel with 25 fighter jets

GAZA, Oct 1 (KUNA) -- The United States is to supply Israel with 25 F-35 fighter jets in line with a deal projected to cost up to USD 15 billion, Israel Radio reported on Wednesday. The new fighter jets, manufactured by the US Lockheed Co., have senstive equipment for radar evasion. Meanwhile, the Israeli daily, Haaretz, reported that Washington approved the sale of the warplanes and that the two countries were pondering sale of 50 more jets in the coming years.
