Islamic extremists filmed martyrdom videos as they planned airline explosions
(ITN) Prosecutors said videos recorded by two of the eight-man gang were discovered in the boot of a car after police swooped in Walthamstow in August 2006.
Extracts from Uma Islam's martyrdom video were played to the jury.
In his recorded speech, Islam said: "I say to you disbelievers that as you bomb, you will be bombed. As you kill, you will be killed.
"If you think you can go into our land and do what you are doing in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine and keep on supporting those that are fighting against the Muslims and think it will not come back on to your doorstep then you have another thing coming."
The eight men deny conspiring to murder and to endanger the safety of aircraft between January and August 2006.
Prosecutors said the men plotted to kill thousands by blowing passenger jets out of the sky with home-made liquid bombs.
At least seven aircraft flying to major cities across north America were the targets, the court heard.
In the video, Islam says: "We are doing this in order to gain the pleasure of our Lord, and Allah loves us to die and kill in his fires.
"Martyrdom operations upon martyrdom operations will keep on raining on these kuffars (non-believers) until they release us and leave our lands."
"Most of them are too busy watching Home And Away and EastEnders, complaining about the World Cup, drinking your alcohol, to care about anything."
Mr Wright said the video showed that Islam had in mind a "holy war", a "violent and bloody" struggle against non-Muslims.
Police found a videotape in Assad Sarwar's garage on which five of the defendants had recorded suicide videos, the court heard.
They were: Abdulla Ahmed Ali, Ibrahim Savant, Waheed Zaman, Tanvir Hussain and there was also a second video recorded by Waheed Khan.
In Ali's video he refers to Osama bin Laden's warnings to the West.
Mr Wright said all the videos were "in similar vein" to those found in Sarwar's car.
He said the men were dressed similarly and each film contained "similar chilling sentiments".
In Ali's video he says: "Sheikh Osama has warned you many times to leave our lands or you will be destroyed, and now the time has come for you to be destroyed."
When police searched Sarwar's garage they also found a container with 18 litres of hydrogen peroxide, a jar of wires, syringes, a thermometer and latex gloves, the jury was told.
