Incoming prime minister Romano Prodi's coalition candidate, communist Fausto Bertinotti, has been elected speaker of the Italian parliament's lower house.
A speaker has yet to be decided for Senate, where Mr Prodi has a tiny two-seat majority.

In an interview with il Giornale today, Israel Ambassador Gol affirms: "Mr Ali Rashid is "una persona senza onore, la sua candidatura è una vergogna per l’Italia, è una vergogna anche per i palestinesi" ("Mr Ali Rashid is a man without honor, an embarrassment for Italy and also for the same Palestinians").

Ciao, visto che te la cavi bene a scrivere in inglese e io è da un pò di tempo che trascuro di farlo, non ti andrebbe di scrivere un post sul mio blog alla settimana che riassuma i fatti salienti della settimana politica per i miei amici americani.

Dear Enzo, I agree with you: the amount of money given to our members of Parliament is simply shameful.
However, I hope Mr Prodi's government won't last an entire legislature, and won't even last twenty months (if I remember well, this is the period of time after which the members of Parliament receive a pension for the rest of their lives)...

E mentre cercavo di capire cosa ci fosse che non andava in questo deputato (della margherita poi) ho provato a sostituire la parola musulmano con la parola ebreo, e mi sei apparo su, con la tua bella camicia bruna e lo sguardo sicuro e tronfio.

Anonimo, prima di definire Khaled Fouad Allam "un mite professore uiniversitario" (forse ti confondi con Magdi Allam, l'unico musulmano democratico che mi venga in mente) ti consiglio di informarti su chi è costui, sulle sue dichiarazioni, sulle sue idee dei rapporti tra le civiltà.
Quanto all'accusa di nazismo a chi non la pensa come te, beh, non meriterebbe nemmeno risposta, se non fosse che ancora una volta voi di sinistra confermate la vostra specialità: incapacità totale di argomentare, cazzate a raffica e insulto libero. Poi uno si stupisce di ciò che è accaduto alla Moratti e a suo padre lo scorso 25 aprile.
