Setback for Prodi

Useless! Absolutely useless!
Mr Prodi fails to secure victory for his new speaker.
The Italian Senate has failed to agree on the appointment of a new speaker.
The proceedings broke up in chaos after three separate votes that all proved inconclusive. A new ballot is expected on Saturday morning. (BBC)

Mr Prodi is the politician who pronounced these words one week ago:
"With this majority, we'll be able to govern this country for five years!"
As we can see, he can't even elect the President of the Senate... He said Marini would be elected at the first votation. :-D
We must laugh just not to cry!

What terrible news you are having out of Italy. I had hoped Silvio would come out on top in the re-count. Too bad. My sympathies and I'm sure the sympathies of President Bush!
